As our new WAU topic of “bread” was introduced today the boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed exploring it through a range of activities in our class. Some children explored taste at the literacy table, using their knowledge of adjectives to describe what they were tasting. Others at the numeracy table used handling data skills to create a pictogram of our favourite breads in P2/3. The art table was busy with everyone exploring the difference in texture when bread is toasted by painting slices of toasted and untoasted bread. Finally a small group worked on their own bread creations using salt dough that they made themselves. We plan to bake them and use them in our class bakery in the coming weeks.
